This is not like any other ceiling fan that you have seen at the local building supply store. It is very small, lightweight, and it runs from a 12volt DC power source or the included AC power supply. Since it weights only 8oz,
it can be easily be transported and hung up in many locations where a traditional larger AC fan would not be practical
.
We have
been
searching
for a high quality fan that runs on 12 volts D
C that
could move a lot of air and use a small amount of energy. We bought many sample
s of various
DC
fans from around the world over the years before we found this one.
The high efficiency permanent magnet brush-less motor is designed for 20,000 hours plus use, is very quiet, and uses only 8 watts of power at 12volts DC. The curved blades are made from semi-flexible vinyl for safety and to avoid breaking. The total weight of the fan is only 8oz. The 16" diameter, safe low voltage power, low power consumption, and light weight make this a very versatile fan The air flow can be felt at 10' from the fan. The one pictured hanging is above the order desk in a pizza restaurant. They used a plant hanger and a zip tie.
It is not fancy. It is one speed forward only, but can be used in a variety of locations. The low voltage is safe and it keeps you cool when a standard large fan is not practical.
The fan can be powered by in your home, office, or shop
from any wall outlet with the included 110
volt adapter.
The battery clip
cord
allows you to power it in remote locations from any 12volt battery. If you are using solar power, you will need to add a 12 volt rechargeable battery between the panel and the fan, This will keep the voltage spikes of a solar panel from damaging the motor.
The lighter socket allows you to power it from most any DC lighter socket. Run from a jump starter or the lighter socket in your RV or sleeper cab.
With multiple power options, it could be used in a tent, workshop, garage, home, office, RV, sleeper cab,
fishing, or hunting to name a few. It is not weatherproof but since it is portable, it could be used on boat or patio when it is not raining. The 8' power cord comes with a female barrel plug. All three adapters have a male barrel plug. Just plug in your
adapter
of
choice
and it is ready to cool.
Installation is simple. Slide the blades onto the motor until they click.
No heavy duty mounting box or electrical wiring needed.
Simply attach the metal hanging clip very securely to a stationary mount. We have found zip ties to work best, but any method that is tight will eliminate any vibration noise and keep the fan steady. Make sure that whatever you attach the fan hook to can not spin. It must be stationary. Disconnect it when not in use.
