    Description

1804 Half Cent, C-9 variety with crosslet "4" and wreath stems, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as VF-25 (Brown).  Some of its value is that it is a truly high-quality, high-VF range coin; it is rich in visible and contrasted details with a full rim, and is a rich chocolate brown in color!  This C-9 variety is known for having an obverse die that wore with minting, eventually forming a cud-shaped die break on the obverse at the "RTY" of LIBERTY - and on this specimen, the cud is there.  As another surprise, there is a minor clockwise reverse die rotation.
This coin, with the intrigue, mystery, and fascination that goes with one such from Early America, is offered for you here.
