Hello, I am writing you to help you understand what this coin is so it can be accurately described.
I am a member of the EAC, Early American Coppers club, and an expert in both large cents and half cents.
To begin with,
First, this is a 1807 half cent of which there is only one die variety.
Secondly, this is a late die state, specifically state IV, which had rim crumbling which is what you have circled in red on the reverse of the coin. The area you
Thirdly, the top center of the coin that looks like a large capital "L" is actually the letter "E" and is part of the word Liberty. The oversized E is common to the 1800 through 1807 half cent dates.
