This is a beautifully designed and crafted Limoges bowl.  The outer surface of the bowl is crafted with an embossed scalloped design, in which there are three-and-a-half rows of oval overlapping scallops, reflections of which can also be  seen on the interior.  This is because of the unique porcelain clay, kayolin, found in the Limoges region of France, which gives a translucent quality to its wares.  The bowl is unique because of the embossed scalloped design, the fluted corners, and  the

of floral and butterfly decor on both the inner and outer sides of the bowl, as well as the beautiful large floral design in the center of the bowl.  The size of the bowl lends it to many uses, such as nuts, candy or condiments, etc., or to be simply displayed as an art piece.
Although the bowl was previously owned, it appears to be like new.  There are no chips, cracks or crazing.
