    Description

    Pink backpack shield
This bulletproof backpack shield has been tested to the NIJ standard 0108. 01 and exceeds specifications for level II. . This defeats all common handgun rounds including 9 mm, 357 Mag, 40 cal, and 45 ACP and lesser calibers.
    Made in the USA
    Purpose
The purpose of this design was to allow the parent a cost effective way to provide the necessary protection for the most common hand gun threats. .
    History
About 45% of all mass shootings involve a 9mm or .40 Caliber pistol. These are stopped with IIa. 10% involve a .357 mag which depending on barrel length is defeated with a level IIa or level II. The other 45% involve rifles which requires hard Armor like steel or pressed composite to defeat. This is level III or UL 752 level B6-7
0% of school shootings have been committed with a .44 mag (9mm 1400fps) which is Level IIIa
    What’s out there
The existing Kevlar panels on the market are over built to IIIa and over priced for unlikely threats, and then are not adaptable to cover real relevant threats. There are back packs totally built of Kevlar but cost 300$ or more, and would still not stop a rifle. And they wear out like all kids back packs do. The other option is a plate insert which will stop all the threats, but my kindergartner would struggle to lug an extra 10lbs around all day.
    How it’s different
My Backpack shield weighs in at about 12 oz. this weight is easy for a 5 year old to carry and will take up minimal room in the pack. Also perfect for Bug Out bags. As the child grows and gets stronger a metal plate can be substituted and will provide protection from rifle threats.
    Dimensions
My backpack shield measures 10” Wide x 12” tall and about 1/4” thick. The 14 layers of K129 Kevlar are stitched with 49lb strength Kevlar thread and weighs in at just 10 Oz.
It’s simple and easy, just insert into backpack on flat side up against the back. fits most standard sized backpacks and many bags and large purses and offers discrete protection.
This Shield allowed no penetration with 5 shots from a .357 mag at around 1400 FPS. All lesser threats such as .40 cal, 9 mm, .45 cal, and 380 are easily defeated.
While nothing is completely bulletproof in all situations, Life Binder was tested in a NIJ certified lab conforming to test standards 0108.01 and exceeded Level II requirements.
