Bernardaud Lithophane Porcelain Votive Candle Holder - Made in Limoges France.
The glow of the candle shines through the raised and carved surface of the votive, contrasting light against shadow and thus revealing its richly detailed scenes of a wedding.
It measures approximately 3" tall by 4.5" in diameter & is brand new in box.
The candle holder has the makers mark, Bernardaud Limoges, and France, stamped on the bottom of the plate. The Lithophane Votivelight is a traditional engraving technique on a fine bisque porcelain that was invented in Limoges France in 1828.
